TronLink shows how much Energy and Bandwidth your address has. If you have less than ~65,000 energy, a USDT transfer will burn TRX — rent energy before sending and the transfer costs 2–3× less.
TronLink works with TRON resources directly: you can see your energy and stake your own TRX. Staking pays off for large holders, while for everyday transfers it is simpler to rent energy for the time you need. Renting only requires your public address.
How to send USDT from TronLink for less: 3 steps
- Copy your TRON address. Open TronLink and copy the address of the account you will send from (it starts with T). If you have several accounts, double-check you copied the right one.
- Buy energy for that address. Paste the address on the buy energy page, choose the number of transfers (65,000 Energy covers one transfer to a recipient who holds USDT, 131,000 — to a new address) and the term. Energy usually arrives within seconds after payment.
- Send USDT. Check in TronLink that the energy shows up in the account resources, then send USDT. The wallet shows how many resources the transfer uses and whether any TRX will be burned.
Buy energy before you send: if a transaction already went through with burning, or failed with OUT OF ENERGY, the network does not return burned TRX.

TronLink displays account resources — Energy and Bandwidth — alongside your balance. You can see the same on TronScan under the Resources tab for your address. Rented energy arrives as a DelegateResource transaction from the service address.
Stake your own or rent
Staking TRX also gives energy, but one transfer a day needs thousands of TRX locked, and unstaking takes 14 days. Renting does not lock your money: you pay for the amount you need for 15 minutes, an hour or a day.

A transfer to a recipient who already holds USDT needs ~65,000 Energy; a new address or an exchange needs ~131,000. If you already have some energy, still make sure you reach the threshold: any shortfall is paid by burning TRX.

Energy use depends on the recipient, not on the amount you send. Rental is priced at the 1-hour rate.
